You can read a statement from the band below about Fred's departure.<br>

MessageDear you, We

are writing to tell you all that our friend Fred has decided to leave

the band to pursue school and work on other things. We all support his

decision 100%. He is still our very close friend and we have no bad

blood between us whatsoever. He is the funniest person any of us have

ever met and we will miss him. We are certain that he will do amazing

at whatever he decides to do. We will be the first ones to lend a hand.

Jack Marin will be our new bass player. As we are sure you will all

find out, he is an amazing person. We are very fortunate to have found

someone that we all fit so well with. Be sure to come out and make him

feel welcomed as a new part of our family. A message from Fred- "Thanks

everybody so much for all of your support, and making this the best

year of my life. I'm glad I got a chance to meet and talk to some

really awesome people. I still love the guys in Cute, and will miss

them. I wish them the best of luck in the future. If anybody wants to

get a hold of me, feel free to send me a message on myspace and I'll

answer any questions you might have. Can't stop, won't stop. Bitches. I

hope I'll get to see all of you again in the future." We will miss Fred

dearly. <br>

Thank you all so much, Love, Shaant, Tom, Jeff and Jack<br><br>From absolutepunk.net<br></div>

At the Disco, Brandon Flowers is taking aim at Green Day over what he feels was an anti-American action. The Killers frontman is mad as hell that Green Day filmed their DVD, <i>Bullet in a Bible</i>, in England. "You have Green Day and 'American Idiot.' Where do they film their DVD? In England," Flowers told U.K.'s <i>The Word</i>. "A bunch of kids screaming 'I don't want to be an American idiot' -- I saw it as a very negative thing towards Americans...[T]hose kids aren't taking it the same way that he meant it. And [Billie Joe Armstrong] knew it."</p> <p>While Flowers said he's sure that Green Day meant the sentiment "in the same way that Bruce Springsteen meant 'Born in the U.S.A.,'" he's still pretty certain the Killers' new album, <i>Sam's Town</i>, is much more patriotic. "People need to see that, really, there are the nicest people in the world here!" Flowers said. "I don't know if our album makes you realize that. But I hope it's from a more positive place."</p> <b><a href="http://www.spin.com/features/news/2006/10/061013_flowers/">Source</a><br></b>

Ladies, let's not mince words here: Pete Wentz, the ever-spazzy bass player of Fall Out Boy, is a total go-getter. A maker of music! An actor! A fashion designer! A friend of Ashlee Simpson! In addition to being a key member of one of this year’s biggest rock bands, he's cute as the dickens, quick of the wit and has a wildly ah-mazing sense of style. We loved that hooded cape with pet monkey look during his dramatic red carpet walk at the VMA's! We sent this multi-tasking genius five quick questions from fred.

You've got a sweet sense of personal style, rivaled only by Kanye. What do you think the best and worst fashions for the '06 have been?

Ha ha, my fashion sense is literally whichever shirt has the least smelly armpits, not a joke. I felt like '06 was all about clashing and controversial colors for Pete Wentz. Definitely the best fashions were finding old Hypercolor shirts and trying to get ‘em to work still. Also those one-piece PJ's with the feet intact pretty much blow my mind. The worst fashions are still just cargo pants especially when combined with Tevas with socks underneath.

Where do you get yr shop on?

I get my shop on at the merch table of whatever bands we’re on tour with. Sometimes I like going through my closet for clothes from when I was like 11. It’s a good thing that pastels don’t wash me out and that I didn’t grow too much since then.

Our trusty internet gossip blogs say that you power-chill with Ashlee Simpson.

Ha ha ha. Power-chill. You guys should write a book of all of the terms you invent. Ash is cute and nice and everything else I don’t usually associate with myself.

On “One Tree Hill” you got to kiss both Hilary Burton and Sophia Bush… Who was the better kisser? And who would win in a cat fight?

Kissing on TV is weird. It’s like "Get into it... film-film-film…" and then you’re like, "Wait, its over?" Besides I was too nervous about my breath and my kissing style to worry about enjoying it. I’m not sure who would win in a catfight. Chad is a hottie with a body, though.

Will we be seeing more of you in Season 4? FINGERS CROSSED!

I think I may be going right to Broadway after I graduate from Julliard soon… Besides, with my modeling career and euro-jet fashion line, I am kinda booked up. Ha ha! Hopefully, this little hobby of a band I have will take off…

Fashion Week in New York is usually a parade of reedy models, high cheekbones and improbably priced haute couture, so it seemed like an odd place for Pete Wentz to hold the big coming-out party for his Clandestine Industries fashion line.

Yet	on Saturday night, there he was, in the belly of the beast (or, more specifically, NYC's hip bar/ former bank Capitale), smiling and holding court while an army of good-looking kids walked the runway in hoodies and tattered dresses that he designed. And naturally, he felt a bit out of place.

"This is our first show anywhere, which is exciting. I have very low expectations for it all," the bassist laughed. "Basically, this is sort of like 'Fall Out Boy takes on Fashion Week.' "

Humility aside, the Clandestine show was clearly a big deal. A big-time roster of celebrity gawkers turned out to scope his wares, including Paris Hilton, Russell Simmons, Ryan Cabrera and Lauren "LC" Conrad of "The Hills" and "Laguna Beach." Cobra Starship mastermind Gabe Saporta walked the runway in a wife beater and black hoodie. All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter partied at the bar. And Wentz tried his best to maintain a sort of 'Aw, shucks' mentality about the whole thing, even when he was brought out on the runway and given a standing ovation.

"It's pretty crazy, because honestly, I wasn't designing these clothes for celebrities at all," Wentz said. "To me, it's stuff you feel comfortable in, so you feel safe in your own skin. That's the most important thing. If you're 300 pounds or 4 feet tall, you can wear these clothes. You don't have to be perfect. You can embrace your flaws."

Of course, that doesn't mean Wentz doesn't have grand aspirations for Clandestine. In fact, he's already lining up a list of potential clients.

"A lot of people like Sway and Kanye have told me they want [a Clandestine hoodie], and I'd like to reach out to an audience that you wouldn't normally see at a Fall Out Boy show," he said. "I would love to see Jay-Z in it, and I would love to design for Keira Knightley, but I think those are both vast pipe dreams."

And given that Pete Wentz was involved, the Clandestine show also doubled as an impromptu news conference for Fall Out Boy's new album, which the band is recording in Los Angeles and — according to what the band told MTV News two weeks ago — is already "halfway done" (see "Fall Out Boy Say Next LP May Fix Global Warming, Feature Jay-Z").

"All the guitar, drum and bass parts have been laid down, and now we're working on vocals," he said. "We've done all 14 songs we were supposed to do with [From Under the Cork Tree producer] Neal [Avron], and then in October, we're going to do two songs with Babyface [see 'Fall Out Boy Want Babyface To Produce Their Next Album']. If you consider our last album 'Empire Strikes Back,' then this record would be 'Return of the Jedi.' We played arenas on our last tour, and now we're writing a record to keep playing them in the future."

And before he jetted off into the night (to hit up innumerable Fashion Week parties, which crop up in the city like wild mushrooms), Wentz had one more matter to attend to: setting the record straight about his much-rumored (and blogged-about) relationship with Ashlee Simpson.

"Well, party press is pretty crazy," Wentz said. "Whether you go out or you don't go out, people just start assuming things about you. As far as Ashlee goes, I'm single and she's single, and I like hanging out with her. But we are definitely not dating. We're friends. She's going to England, and I'm working on an album."

It has been a source of speculation for months and months over who was to blame for the nude photos of Pete Wentz that popped up on the internet. Some said it was a random internet-saavy fan, some say it was Pete himself but most fingers pointed at Pete’s estranged friend, Chris Gutierrez. It seemed only logical to the accusers that Chris would use the photos to get back at Pete for trying to steal his girlfriend. Chris has always denied this but also said that he would have no problem admitting it if he were the responsible party.

Well, now you have the answer my friends, straight from the New York Times.

"VMA Viewers Choice winners Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy were so psyched about their award, they were hanging from pipes in the basement of The Plumm afterward. Turns out the pipe wasn’t so strong: It cracked and spewed water all over the VIP area. Wentz was unfazed; he continued his rant about how his ex-girlfriend had recently posted nude pictures of him all over the Internet."

Ashlee confirms break up with boyfriend Braxton Olita

"Ashlee Simpson, 21, turned heads on September 2 at the NYC bar Don Hill’s, as she snuggled and kissed a cute guy in the hot spot’s VIP section.

One big problem: He wasn’t Simpson’s guitarist and boyfriend of nearly a year, Braxton Olita; it was Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz, 27. Indeed, Simpson’s rep tells Us Weekly that Simpson and Braxton “broke up about a week ago. They have decided to take a break.”

A source close to Simpson tells Us, “Ashlee has been telling everyone that she’s over Braxton,” and adds that Wentz recently dumped girlfriend Michelle Trachtenberg in order to be with Simpson.

For his part, dad Joe may be relieved: A source says when Simpson told him she wanted to move in with Olita earlier this year, “he thought it was totally wrong, immoral and a bad decision. It caused a major rift between her and Joe.”

Ashlee had clearly moved on from her past love at Don Hills’ hipster dance party MisShapes that night where, according to Radar online, she proceeded to straddle the Fall Out Boy bassist, (Jessica was dateless).

However, when the party got going, the going got vomitous for the rowdier Simpson sister. At one point, Ashlee had to excuse herself to retch, and management kindly blocked off the bathroom for her."
